Green Eco Technologies and worm.ae Research Circular Food Waste Solutions

Green Eco Technologies is proud to announce its collaboration with UAE-based worm.ae on a research initiative exploring new ways to turn processed food waste into valuable products for agriculture.

Working with organic material produced by our WasteMaster food waste processing system currently installed at Capital Catering + Services at Abu Dhabi Airport, worm.ae has been leading composting and vermicomposting trials to determine how this material can be transformed into high-quality compost.

The early results are promising, showing that food waste can be converted into nutrient-rich compost that helps improve soil health and water retention, an important benefit for the UAE's challenging growing conditions. This research partnership is demonstrating how food waste can be given a second life as a valuable resource, not just diverted from landfill. The project supports the UAE's circular economy by reducing waste while creating products that can benefit landscaping, agriculture and environmental restoration.

Iris Medalle, GET Sales and Operations Director for GCC, commented, "The best solutions happen through partnership. SDG 17 reminds us that achieving meaningful impact requires collaboration. We are pleased to share the partnership between Green Eco Technologies and worm.ae, transforming food waste into valuable agricultural inputs.

By combining innovation, composting, and vermicomposting, we're helping turn food waste into a resource that supports healthier soils, advances the circular economy, strengthens food security, and contributes to a more sustainable UAE."

Green Eco Technologies looks forward to continuing its work with worm.ae to develop practical, sustainable solutions that unlock more value from food waste and contribute to a greener future for the UAE.
