Green Eco Technologies Supports Life Lab Resources in Turning Food Waste into Aquafeed Ingredients

Green Eco Technologies is proud to support our partners at Life Lab Resources as they scale an innovative circular model that transforms treated post-consumer food waste into valuable aquafeed ingredients, as recently featured in Aquafeed.com’s recently published article, “Turning Food Waste into Aquafeed Ingredients”.

Based in Singapore, Life Lab Resources is demonstrating how unavoidable food waste can be reimagined as a resource, helping to create new opportunities for more sustainable food production. Through the use of our WasteMaster system, food waste is processed at source before being converted into a substrate for further treatment and fermentation.

Food waste presents a significant challenge for businesses and communities, but it also offers an opportunity to recover valuable resources that would otherwise be lost. WasteMaster supports this process by treating food waste on site, reducing its volume and producing a reusable residual material that can be collected for further processing. For Life Lab Resources, this provides an important step in a circular model that uses treated food waste as the starting point for innovative downstream applications.

At its bio-refinery, the recovered material is carefully transformed into a microbial protein for aquafeed ingredients. This approach creates a pathway for returning nutrients from unavoidable food waste to the food production chain, supporting a more circular use of resources. Life Lab Resources received Singapore Food Agency (SFA) approval after two years of submitting HACCP data, becoming the first and only company in Singapore licensed to manufacture aquafeed from mixed post-consumer food waste. Safety and product consistency are managed through controlled processing, traceability and finished-product testing, supported by official certification.

The work being undertaken by Life Lab Resources highlights the potential of combining innovative technology with forward-thinking partnerships to address the food waste challenge. This collaboration reflects our continued commitment to helping businesses rethink how they manage food and organic waste. There are significant opportunities to recover value and support more resource-efficient systems. Our partnership with Life Lab Resources demonstrates the importance of bringing together expertise and innovative technologies to create meaningful progress towards a circular economy.

Green Eco Technologies is proud to support their pioneering work in demonstrating how food waste can be transformed into valuable resources and contribute to more sustainable food production systems.
