Guest Speaker on Food Waste and Loss at United Arab Emirates University

Iris Medalle, Sales and Operations Director for Green Eco Technologies in GCC, was recently invited to speak on the subject of food loss and waste at the prestigious United Arab Emirates University.

During the session, speakers and guests engaged in insightful discussions, highlighting the importance of awareness, proper waste segregation, and behaviour change in tackling food loss and waste. A key focus was on food waste valorisation, exploring how WasteMaster can transform waste into a valuable resource. The event was exceptionally well-organized, and the historic UAE Social Club, Al Multaqa, added a unique significance to the occasion. Ending the day with a special iftar gathering overlooking the mosque made the experience even more memorable, fostering a sense of community and reflection.

Iris Medalle commented, "I am truly grateful to the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, United Arab Emirates University, for the opportunity to speak about food loss and waste and how WasteMaster is supporting the UAE’s food security and circular economy goals during their CAVM Iftar Gathering under the theme ‘Sustainable Communities’. A special thank you to Dr. Mohammed, Dr. Nuha Mustafa, and Dr. Dr. Khaja Mohteshamuddin for their warm welcome and for organizing such a meaningful event.”

Green Eco Technologies looks forward to continuing these conversations and exploring future collaborations as we engage with the global community on the challenges and opportunities surrounding food waste and loss.
