Further ratifying the WasteMaster system as the way forward for sustainable food waste conversion, Green Eco Technologies has been selected as a finalist in the Innovation in Sustainable Technologies category of the Gulf Sustainability and CSR Awards.
The WasteMaster’s clean and efficient on-site conversion of food waste, reducing it by up to 80 per cent without the addition of water or other additives, allows this valuable resource to be repurposed as green energy through anaerobic digestion and other products, in keeping with a circular economy.
WasteMaster’s reporting system also confirms the amount of food waste being loaded to help identify any training required to reduce this quantity at source. For every two tonnes of food waste fed into the WasteMaster and diverted from landfill, around 3.2 tonnes of greenhouse gases are prevented and Deakin University’s research has shown an 84% CO2 equivalent reduction in greenhouse gas generation when compared to disposing of this waste to landfill.
The global Gulf Sustainability and CSR Awards are open to all businesses, organizations, and individuals, regardless of sector, who are committed to exceptional sustainability and corporate social responsibility. Having passed the initial assessment and shortlisting process, finalists must demonstrate the achievements of their products, systems, or initiatives to an independent panel of judges, with the awards results being announced at a gala event the following day.
