Green Eco Technologies extends WasteMaster food waste solution offer through new WasteMaster Pacific joint venture

/ / News Articles

Food waste conversion solutions provider Green Eco Technologies, has strengthened its global WasteMaster offer, expanding throughout the Pacific region with the establishment of WasteMaster Pacific, a new Joint venture with energy solutions provider Optimal Group Pty Ltd.

WasteMaster Pacific will further promote the benefits of the unique WasteMaster on-site food waste conversion system which reduces the volume of food waste being sent to landfill, by manufacturing, selling and providing support for installed systems in its Pacific territories.

The WasteMaster food waste conversion and recycling system re-purposes food and organic waste on-site into reusable products, without adding water or anything else during the process. Food waste is simply loaded into the system and converted into a compost-like residual material which will not attract insects or vermin in its dry state. The process takes less than 24 hours during which time the food waste volume is reduced by up to 80 per cent.

WasteMaster fits seamlessly with the Circular Economy, ensuring that food remains are not wasted but instead are converted and recycled to provide future benefit either in the form of green energy through anaerobic digestion or, depending on the food waste composition, other positive uses to conserve our planet’s diminishing resources.

WasteMaster was presented at the RWM exhibition in Birmingham this year and during the Waste Expo show in Melbourne in October, attracting major interest from those wanting to limit their impact on our Environment. By recycling food waste, WasteMaster reduces greenhouse gas emissions associated with landfill while also contributing significantly to cleaner and safer waste collection and storage. Globally, food waste currently causes around 14 per cent of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions.

Green Eco Technologies has offices, development and manufacturing in Heywood, Greater Manchester and WasteMaster Pacific, located in Mulgrave, Victoria, is equally owned by Green Eco Technologies and the Optimal Group. As well as providing systems, installation and training, WasteMaster Pacific will manage all food waste collection services for its Australian clients, guaranteeing that all WasteMaster-processed food waste is converted into clean energy.

Gordon Hoen, CEO of the Green Eco Technologies group, said: “We are excited to partner with Optimal, which is an established leader in the Australian energy market with strong credentials in green technologies. We believe they will be a perfect partner to help us establish a stronger presence for our WasteMaster food waste conversion solution in Australia, building on our success in the UK. Optimal’s strong technical capabilities and national service network will enable us to provide excellent support in our markets. “

Commenting on the joint venture, CEO of Optimal Group, Craig Dugan, said: “The Federal Department of Environment and Energy estimates that more than five million tonnes of food waste ends up in landfill each year, which is an overwhelming contributor to Australia’s CO2 emissions. WasteMaster provides a quick, easy, clean and green solution for the management of food waste, which has the potential to reduce Australia’s carbon emissions in the future. That is why we were so keen to invest in this innovative technology when we first saw it. “
